Manual Upgrade from 5.5.0 to 5.5.1

What is the procedure for manually upgrading? I unpacked and uploaded the files in the .zip file (/files/tmp directory) should there be something else I need to do - like when manually upgrading packages? My c5 version says it's up to date 5.5.0.

The manual upgrade process for c5 hasn't changed with 5.5.x

See:
http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/installation/upgrading_concr...

What I normally do is not directly upload the new /concrete directory, I rename it to /concrete_new first and upload that. Then I do a quick rename on the server, renaming the existing /concrete folder to /concrete_old, and the new one to /concrete. Then it's a quick run of the upgrade script and it's done - it means your site is in the 'in-between' state for only a short time period.

Yeah that is good advice mesuva. I tried doing something like that *I did something like that last time when I upgraded to 5.4* but for some reason earlier tonight I tried to upgrade to the new 5.5.1 upgrade and darn near screwed my website up. it did a error code on line 8 thing so I decided to switch it back to my 5.4. So if u need to update, take mesuva's advice for sure. I just don't get why my attempt tonight was a fail on my end.. lol Oh well.. i'll wait until someone does a step by step. Although I think I might have figured out my fatal flaw on my own... Gotta love manual updating.

Which reminds me, how come they don't just have it where on your dashboard you can hit a button and poof it automatically updates the files for you once you upload it or something.. Blah, i'm kinda a novice on all this ever since I fired my webmaster who was lazy.. lmao. :)

UPDATE: Ok so after reading a few threads on the forums I found something amazing.. If you simply upload the content of the upgrade to the /updates folder and hit the update button under the update concrete settings, it will update the concrete. So much for that golden button I was looking around for earlier when I typed that other bit. Now that I have that up and done, I have time to go play the slots at the casino.. Cheers ~

That's it! ...index.php/tools/required/upgrade.php

It used to update simply by clicking the upgrade button. My web host shut down all the fun stuff so now I have to do it manually.
