Problem upgrading from 5.2.0RC1 to latest 5.3.1.1

I keep getting the following error message while tying to upgrade:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getCollectionID() on a non-object in /concrete/helpers/concrete/upgrade/version_510.php on line 50

Seems strange that it's finding an error message from 5.1 when I'm already past that version. Do I have to upgrade to another version first?

Any ideas?

I've rolled back to 5.2.0RC1 (my backup before I tried to upgrade) and now the slideshow block has stopped working.

I've deleted the block on the page, made a new one, but when I go to "add" it, nothing happens (screen goes white). When I reload, the page comes back, but the block isn't there...

Any ideas?
