Site migration upload issue

Hi Guys

Iy seems that quite a few people have had this issue but the fixes listed on the forums don't seem to be helping.

We are in the process of moving a site to Fasthosts and the file upload just wont work. We keep getting the following issue:

Unable to copy file to storage directory. Please check permissions on your upload directory and ensure they can be written to by your web server.

The folder is set to 777, safe mode is off and the cache has been cleared. I cant seem to find the issue though.

phpinfo looked fine when compared to other installs, cant seem to find the problem though.

I use Fasthosts and C5 installs & moves do work on their Linux platform, which I assume you are using.

I would recheck the subdirectories of the files folder make sure they are writeable too.

Hope that helps

Yep, all checked - still nothing.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The server isn't configured for Concrete so that was the cause of the error. Hopefully some upgrades will fix things.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

I have exactly the same issue. We are using a Fasthosts dedicated server. Have done the 777/cache/tmp in php.ini etc but ot no avail.

When you mentioned that your server wasn't set up for C5 is it possible you might be able to let me know what you did and if it fixed the issue?

Really appreciate your help.

I managed to fix this by changign the path in the temp folder path in theC5 control pannel. Althoug it had the server path eg /etc/www and so on, when I removed all of this and just put in /files then it worked. Very strange but at least it's working!
