Slider Revolution & Site help

Hi All - I am somewhat new to Concrete5 but not to CMS and site development. Last week I purchased the Granduer Theme to build a site with and the slider just will not work. I chose this theme because it came with the slider. After several days of struggling with this and asking for help from the develper and from Theme Punch I am getting no response! I even purchased the slider separately too so that I could be certain it wasn't just the slider included with the theme.

Has anyone else had any problems with this plugin? Upon initial installation the slider worked but only with the included content. As soon as I attempted to make any change to the slider it would just go blank. Now it just says "Revolution Slider Error: The param width not found in slider params"

I have installed and reinstalled both concrete 5, the theme and the slider over 7 times with the same result. Even tried the default C5 theme, no theme and still the slider will not work. The site is pwtdemo.com

Please help!!

How did you change the slider? Did you try to change the code?

When you reinstalled the plugin did you delete the original version first?

My steps were; Install C5 on to the web server, uploaded the theme and both plugins into the "packages" folder as directed by the install docs. Create database and user through cpanel wizard. Opened site and installed C5. Everything looks great. Then I go in and try to simply adjust the size of the slider and it crashes and will not longer show content.

Then I dump the entire site, reload everything again, and install the latest version of the slider and content importer plugins I get the parameter error.

Dump the entire site, reload, install, only install the slider plugin on the basic C5 site and I again get the param error.

Hi,
The developer MUST provide you with support especially if the add-ons or themes don't work as advertised. It's part of the rules we all agree too to be allowed to sell on the market place.

There is however a proper way to do it which is to go to the support page of the theme or add-on and leave a request for support there.

If you did that and the developer is not answering than you have the right to ask for a refund and go for another option. The refund is handled directly by the Concrete5 core team.

I don't have any in mind right now but I'm pretty sure you can find several themes with slider included or several very good sliders to buy separately that have been used by hundreds with no problem.

Yes I have followed up by contacting both the market place and the developer directly and neither one are responding and it has been 4 days. Theme punch did respond once and said not their problem contact the developer. Developer is not responding.

I have asked for help and my money back. I have received neither.

Hi Mnakalay

The grandeur theme and slider revolution are both from theme forest/code canyon, and have zero requirements for support, it's developer discretion over there.

I have the slider revolution on my site, and have to say it was difficult to get it working properly, the back end code is very messy, you can tell its a converted Wordpress plugin, don't think it ever would have gone through the PRB here

You know you have one major problem withyour website? it's loading The C5 included jquery and then the file ccm.base.js required by C5 but then it loads jquery again through google which means that anything relying on jquery loaded before that will not work.
What's more you have this
$.noConflict();
before loading the second jquery so it probably doesn't apply either.

That might be the source of your problem.

But that doesn't explain why the base C5 install with only the latest slider won't work does it? I am going to load that right now so you can see. It may take 30 min.

Thanks for responding btw!!

Ok, just reinstalled C5 using the default theme no code change and installed the slider plugin. Still errors. Does the code looked messed up?

In both cases, the Grandeur Responsive Multipurpose Concrete5 Theme (themeforest) and the Slider Revolution Responsive Concrete5 Add-On (codecanyon) are managed by user BeConcrete (http://themeforest.net/user/BeConcrete)

Thank you, yes I am aware of this. Over the past 4 days he has not responded to a single post or email.

I have managed to get the slider working (not 100%) but well enough where I think I can launch a real site and not the demo version.

Turns out that after loading C5 and the plugins via Firefox they work. Any work done in IE 9 will crash the plugin.

I cant solve your problem, but observe that this looks like an object lesson in the benefits of the concrete5.org marketplace and PRB over alternate sources of themes and addons.
