Upgrade from version 5.7.5.13 to 8.5.2

I have been trying to update a Concrete 5 website for some time now, but I am not succeeding. The reason is that the provider will change the PHP to version 7.2 in two weeks.

Last time I tried to upgrade from version 5.7.5.13 to version 8.5.2 with the manual method ("Move the concrete5.x.x.x folder into your updates/ directory"), that didn't work.
The following error message was displayed:

Whoops \ Exception \ ErrorException (E_WARNING)
array_replace_recursive(): Argument #2 is not an array

Is my mistake that the gap between the versions is too big?

Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

The website address is

https://altenpflegeheim-breitenworbis.com/...

and the hoster is "Domain Factory"

http://www.df.eu/

But that probably won't help much, because everything is in German, right? Why did you want to know that?

Hi there, i know it's been a while but do you remember how you overcame this issue? I'm having the same problem at the moment! Thanks, Laura

I contacted ConcreteOwl and sent him the entire website plus database and he did the update on his own computer for a fee. However, it was extremely complicated to get the database back on my server afterwards. It doesn't necessarily have to be that way, sometimes it's very easy, it depends on the hoster.
