Using a previous webpage and adding Concrete and Featurist

So maybe I am in way over my head. I figured I had the time to take this on, How Hard Could It Be? I have an existing webpage that my business has used for nearly 4 years. I wanted to update it, and downloaded concrete5, bought Featurist, hooked up with HostMonster, and now when I try to create a nice neat new page with neat drop down menus and graphics, new pics, etc. I get the original webpage and cant change a damn thing. Do I need a completely new URL? How can that be useful to a business that has been using one and simply wants a new look?

index.html will take preference over index.php often. If you rename index.html or default.html to index1.html that should fix it, or you can ask your host about changing the order of perference.

I have been able to progress by renaming the index/html file. BoomGraphics, thanks for the suggestion but I didnt need to try your idea! Thanks, J.

Either that or you installed concrete5 inside a subfolder...

Make sure concrete5 is in the root of your website. :-)
