Dutch translation (beta)

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm working on a Dutch translation for this magnificent piece of software. I have finished about 70% and I'm expecting to finish the other 30 % in the next few weeks.

If you can not wait to download it, you will be able to download the most recent translation. You can find it here:
http://www.m9dia.com/files/get/2_w7Rm4y7Y/concrete5-dutch-localizat... (version 0.7)

Feel free to give some feedback.

Dutch:

Ik ben momenteel bezig met de vertaling van Concrete5. Ik heb op dit moment ongeveer 70% van alles vertaald naar het Nederlands. Je kan deze versie hier downloaden:

http://www.m9dia.com/files/get/2_w7Rm4y7Y/concrete5-dutch-localizat...

Om hem te installeren moet je ervoor zorgen dat de map nl_NL gekopieerd wordt naar de languages map (website -> languages -> nl_NL -> LC_MESSAGES -> messages.mo).

Open vervolgens het bestand website -> config -> site.php en voeg hier de volgende regel toe:

define('LOCALE', 'nl_NL');

sla het bestand op en klaar is kees.

Looks like several people are working on the Dutch translation separately:http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/internationalization/dutc...

Are you in touch with anyone already working on it?
markkuiper replied on at Permalink Reply
Yes, I was aware of the fact that some people made an attempt to translate the file and I actually saw some translations but I wasn't impressed. This version is pretty close to being finished, if people can't wait to download a release they can download this one which translates the most important part of the software.

I think it's great what you're doing.
I already started the proces and was at 40% but I had no time left for it.

Then I saw your message about being at 70%.
I immediatly downloaded it and I am using it right now @http://www.rosevalley-networks.net/...

Can't wait for it to finish, I don't think it would be good to help you with the proces because the translation might not be accurate anymore.

You are more then welcome!

How do we use a 5.2.1 translation for the new 5.3.

Is there a new messages.mo?
Remo replied on at Permalink Reply
Remo
there's a new po file in the svn repository which can (if it hasn't already) be translated.

german is done, haven't read about any other languages..
eXisTa replied on at Permalink Reply
How far are you now?

Any progress on the 5.3 version? Can I offer some help?

If you guys need people to translate I can take a look if I can help.

Just say it.
I really don't like to start on another version of the translation as I saw multiple attempts were already underway.

Remo,

can you give me the link to the svn repository
for the language files.

And how can I add the Dutch translations I already have in the .mo?

Thanx

The link is not working anymore.
I somebody still working on a Dutch translation or do we have to start a new thread?
Maynar replied on at Permalink Reply
Maynar
Well yeah the link doesn't work, but I still have the download locally. Could upload it again, but I think it's a better idea to start a new thread and actually get some work done.

Sorry for the late reply,

I'm currently a bit busy with my own projects however I am planning to continue working on the translation of 5.3.x in the near future. Find attached the old dutch translation for those who are still using an old version of Concrete5.

But uhm.. There still isn't a 5.3.1.1 updated .po and .mo file so for the up-to-date users it don't do much good I guess.

Looks like we have to start all over again.

Nobody knows where to get the language file (.mo / .po)

The Japanese guy allready did a translation :)

I just sent Andrew a message...

It happens sometimes that people forget that there's a message that needs to be answered. I wrote so many messages that I can hardly keep track of it.

Can't speak for others, but if there's someone waiting to get an answer from me, send me a message. I can't promise that I'll be able to answer everything but I try to help if possible!

Well,

Sometime... you say "sc**w it".

I actually didn't fully check 5.3.1.1 .po file.

I just used the 5.3.0 .po file, and add and modified the string where I saw new strings....

So some Japanese people may complain about it if they find some area untranslated... :p

Remo,

It was no reaction on your first post, more that there was no "sound" at all about Dutch translation.

I know you put a lot of effort in answering what you can. Cost a huge amount of time.

We did it for years on the Joomla fora, international and local (Dutch).

Next time i will sent you a message.
izne replied on at Permalink Reply
is it available or not? i have installed 5.2 locale to 5.3.1.1 and the menus stopped working.
markkuiper replied on at Permalink Reply
The translation is only compatible with version 5.2, maybe in the near future I will release a translation for the latest version but I'm a bit busy at the moment
izne replied on at Permalink Reply
there was a problem with the .po file - an unescaped quote. i have fixed that and now the localization is fine. very soon i will have the whole file translated and will post it here. i am using it on 5.3.1.1

Can you post your current version.

I can use it for a demo.

Thanx

Can you share the file so that we can complete the translation.
We have about 60% translated.
But when I add it to the website i can't edit my blocks anymore.

There has to be an error somewhere but we can't find it.

grtz

Hi there,

I see the version "70%" is not online anymore, some might want a backup of the dutch translation.

Here it is:http://rosevalley-networks.net/public/index.php?dir=other/&file...

I did not finish it but maybe someone with more time wants to.
mdd replied on at Permalink Reply
Hello,

I'm a new dutch user of concrete. I also could benefit from a dutch translation. I have some spare time and would like to help finishing the translation.

How can we continue the translation?
I use version 5.3, so it would be wise to work on a version that works with the current version of concrete.

I've grabbed a translation file from this thread, and merged it with the latest strings from concrete5 for 5.3.3.1 (actually the in-development 5.3.1.2). It can be found here:

http://svn.concrete5.org/svn/concrete5-i18n/nl_NL/trunk/messages.po...

I have sent typoguy commit information for this repository - so any work you do on translation, send it to him and he can get it added to this, the official, central Dutch translation. This is just to minimize confusion - I'll give out commit access to anyone who wants it/needs it.

Looks like the translation is now at 45% complete (since a lot of strings have been added since the previous translation). And thanks for helping to translate concrete5, everyone.

Andrew, thanks for the updated file.

For typoguy. I've attached my messages.po with recently made translations. Is now at 57%.

Hi Andrew,
I'm a collegue of typoguy.
I did some more translation work. I already started it before we got the latest merged file so it's not the latest one. This file is 100% translated. Is it possible to merge it again with the latest version so I can finish the latest version too?

Thanks!

Nevermind, I already managed to merge the two files. I got the latest version 63% translated now. Work to do...

We had the translation finsished but when putting it online, the textlabels were not placed correcty. I already discusses it with concrete. They told me it's probably an application bug which they fixed in beta.

I cannot find an error in the file so I'm not sure what to do now. Start all over again or wait for a fix.

Hi Tbone,

Probably it has to do with the translation of pages (pagina's). The apostrophe is interacting with the javascript of the navigation. I have the same problem.
Till now the only solution is to use 'paginas'.
Webcreatives replied on at Permalink Reply
Webcreatives
Hi Anneke,
Yes I ran into the same problem and used 'paginas' too.
But the other problem seems to have other causes. We started a new translation already.

It would be nice if there was some kind of translation platform like pootle server.

Well it is a good idea, because of the lack of coordination in translating the core.
I'm at 55% of the translation, but stopped because of your progress. Thought that my energy is better spend at the translation of the add-ons.

I have had also some errors when processing the .mo file. I had some type errors with the %s. Had to scan the entire file for it.

But how far are you with the new file. Is help wanted?
Webcreatives replied on at Permalink Reply
Webcreatives
We're not much further but were planning to finish it in the next days.

Help is always welcome but it's not easy to coordinate it so it's probably better for you to keep concentrating on translation of add-ons.

I'll keep you informed.

please use the svn to submit your translations, otherwise it's possible that someone else starts to translate the same strings as well...

Contact Andrew if you don't have access to the repository
