Multilingual user attributes

we have created a new site which features a English and Japanese version using the following add ons:
- multilingual
- Translations Manager
- Language Manager
- C5DK Multilingual Content Block
All great add ons in there own right and work really well when you combine them.
However we have come across an issue, we have registration form which needs to be in both languages. On this registration form we have a few select boxes which are automatically generated from the users attributes.
The problem is we have no way of translating our user attribute select box list while in the Japanese version of the site, does anyone know of a way this could be done?
