Complex C5 Form - if product model is this - display that group of variants.

Permalink
I was wondering how we would go with a form that has "required" drop down menus that give the Harley "model"; specific "Variant description" and "year".

The issue is that there are 7 "models" each has from 3 to 12 "Variants" plus "build dates". I think that Ajax or Javascript may be the best; with some 95 model variants - (which is a nightmare in every sense from a parts interpreting perspective!) this is a complex marketplace.

I am prepared to purchase an existing add-on if required.

I have attached an XL spreadsheet that will give you the idea of what we are trying to do. Ultimately I will need this routine on many company websites.

We have a few sites to build and I am slowly moving this company into C5 as the basis of all new work going forward.

I am Queensland based in Australia as far as time zones go GMT+10.

Take a look at either advanced forms or proforms on the marketplace, from memory they can both do this.

Happy to impliment this for you.

Thanks for the response guys!
I am running 5.6 at present as I have only had 2 years of C5 experience. I am definitely front end - no PHP programmer - that is for sure. I'm waiting for 5.7 to become more stable before we take the leap!

Tim could you give me an idea of what sort of costs to do the implementation. I was also wondering just how we can establish this so that I can reuse it on other sites; as this is the first of maybe as many as 15 sites by the time we do dealer canonicals for the products?

Thanks for your assistance;

What version of concrete are you planning to use?

If you want to stick with 5.6.x legacy version, Tim's suggestion is probably a good one.

If you have your eyes on the new 5.7 version you won't be able to find those 2 add-ons or anything that can do that in the marketplace. You'll have to go for a custom solution.
