Concrete5 Website Developer to be a reliable contractor.

We are a website design and development company based in Shoreditch, London. We do most of our design and development in house, however we are looking to meet a website developer to build a relationship with and to contract to work on specific projects in future. There is not a specific project at the moment, so this is exploratory. There is however plenty of work in the pipeline.

We are specifically looking for an HTML / CSS (and basic JS) coder who is experienced with the Concrete5 Content Management System. This is the cornerstone of all our work, having worked with Wordpress and Joomla, this is our preferred system. A full knowledge of how to implement a website design into Concrete 5 and the ability to then configure the CMS for a client and insert all the relevant website content is important.

We appreciate C5 isn't yet that popular, however as you'll see it is amazing. So if you have the HTML / CSS experience and are a developer who is looking to do work but doesn't have a huge experience of this CMS, but are keen to learn we can consider working with you to help train you on the CMS. It is quite basic to get to grips with.

Beyond this a knowledge of website best practices and being happy to carry out small additional tweaks such as setting up mailing list accounts, building email templates and general dev work is important. We are looking for someone flexible, quick at what they do and happy to learn what they don't know. We are also happy to learn from you.

We are a small company looking to expand due to volume of business. We need to be competitive on price so part of that requires quick turn around, and swift high - quality development to keep costs down. We are happy to work with younger developers who are new to the jobs market so don't let a lack of extensive portfolio prevent you from sending us your details. Also we can work with part-timers who have other commitments, such as young mothers or part time students.

We are based in Shoreditch, London and are looking for a fluent English speaker who is preferably based in England, but you don't necessarily need to be around the corner. We want someone who pays attention to detail. Labels your code and takes pride in your work.

We understand there may also be overseas folk interested in this work. We are happy to read your CV and discuss our options. We have had bad experiences of working with people remotely before and so would need to establish a good line of communication with you. You need to be able to be in contact for at least 4 hours a day, so India is an option. We are happy to Skype and need to be able to speak directly as opposed to relying solely on email.

If this sounds of interest please contact us at toby at with your CV and a covering letter. Please include your requested day-rate and be 100% transparent about your availability, location, and your situation. We are happy to be flexible and need to know your circumstances so we can work out a mutually beneficial setup.
