I have 2 sites that are/were running version 5.6.3.x, and they need to be upgraded to 5.6.4 so they function on PHP7. Accepting bids to complete the work. Please reply to this post

This is only a simple job as long as an update works first time with no issues.

Sites that have been running for a few years accumulate a legacy of old data and files behind the scenes that complicates the exercise.

Sites could also have addons, themes and applications code that may need updating for php7. Any custom developments originally made for the site may not be well documented.

The other complicating factor is if you require a zero-risk zero-downtime update, or if you can afford sites to be out of action while issues are resolved on the live site.

Exactly correct John, often the optimisation of the files and database together with any addon debugging will take much longer than just running the upgrade routine.

Agreed. In my experience, it's 50/50 whether a site upgrades without complaining or whether extra repairs are required and some of those extras can be hard to solve.
