Keep posting your availability. Last time I checked it's perfectly fine and acceptable to do so and I applaud you for your effort to earn an honest wage.
The core team has heard this complaint, and until they provide a clear area where this is deemed "appropriate", or Franz says please stop. - have at it.
If someone has a problem with that and has absolutely nothing better to do with their time and lives than harass you for it, then honestly the joke is on them.
I can only assume you post these because you're really in need of work.
I want to help you, so If I may:
- Raise your rates. I would never hire someone that charges that little. It simply screams "I have no idea what I am doing". Any lower than $65/hr and I start to get concerned. Any higher than $95/hr and I start to laugh.
- Your new website is nice. Much better than your old one.
- keep working hard and building good relationships. 3 happy clients = 1 new client + potential return work of those 3 happy clients. (it's an old rock'n'roll gig adage. every 3 shows you're nearly guaranteed a new gig. Unless you suck like my band did. :-P )
- don't suck. ( I can't say if you do or don't ) In general, and especially with respect to C5 as there is a real shortage of non-flaky & professional developers, good work brings good work. Do good work, more work will come.
- don't be flaky. Always always always meet your commitments. Always be up front about your needs. Always get everything in writing and or pretty picture. Communicate.....and then over-communicate. Don't be a one and done. Think long term, not short term.
- Think Long Term. There have been plenty of times where I have had to eat dev cost instead of wining like a little baby like the world is ending because I just got scope-creeped out of $600-$800. Because I didn't act that way, and because I have provided some give and take - Some of those same clients have netted me more than $75,000.
Just some thoughts. Well intended, just trying to help.

It would be good if we had a recommended/endosement type thing on our profiles.
Having taken on a lot of small/medium jobs from this bored its hard to say "hey these people have used me and this is what they thought"

I am still looking for work (have been for the past 3 months now). I haven't really given any thought to raising my rate, as I have been thinking it was already too high! I guess I'm not very good at estimating the value of my work. That, and the cost of living where I live isn't all that high, so I haven't seen the need to raise my rates lately. I think around $60 per hour is highest I will charge, for now.
