Reducing Database Size

Hi THere - hoping for some assistance. I have a c5.6 install that has been running for about 3 years and the database host is charging extra based on the database size (I am not the webmaster). I have been asked to reduce the database size and just wondering what I can delete? If anything. It is not a particularly large or complex site.

I attach a screengrab of the phpadmin with the tables sorted by file size.

It seems pagestatistics is the main culprit. Can this be cleared out? Then Logs is the second largest.

I note this post -https://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/chat/page-view-statistics...

buyt just want to check on the repercussions and if there are any.

PageStatistics is just a log file and can be turned off in the dashboard.
To clean up your PageStatistics table, in phpmyadmin, run this sql
truncate table PageStatistics

You can clear the log files from the dashboard.

Thanks for the quick reply - I've never visited that statistics tracking page after however many years on C5. Good to know. And thanks re the SQL code - problem sorted.

Have a look at
https://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/extreme-clean...

Its pretty well established now with no disasters reported over >3 years use, but when using anything that does major database surgery its always best to take a database backup just in case.
