Can't change default footer

Hello, I'm really confused. I can't edit the footer of the default theme. C5 says the default theme is called PlainYogurt but there is no directory called PlainYogurt, so I assume PlainYogurt is the /default theme directory. I even went so far as deleting footer.php from both the /concrete/themes/default/elements and deleting the entire /themes directory that sits outside the /concrete directory. Further, Block Cache, Overrides Cache and Full Page Caching are off, Cache expire set to 1 minute and I cleared cache yet the footer still shows up. What's going on here?

public_html\concrete\themes\default

or if you updated

public_html\updates\concrete5.6.2.1_updater\concrete\themes

you can move \default (plain yogurt)
to \themes and use it as a base theme
\themes\default (in the dashboard install the theme as a new theme)

anything in the core that is changed will revert back to default on the next update

Hi rawaccess,

Here is a walk-through guide I did on removing the footer, it also explains how to find which file to edit:

I hope this is helpful,

Thank you. The new footer.php is in the upgrade folder.

If you have done an update, then the folder to look for is /updates/themes/YOUR THEME/elements
change the footer there
