Can't install theme

I'm new with Concrete. I'm trying to install a custom theme, which doesn't seem to work out for me.

I've duplicated the theme Greek Yoghurt, changed name. And I've already changed quite some CSS.

I've tried uploading it in <site_root> > themes > new_theme, which doesn't work.

I've also tried to make a package for my new custom theme, which doesn't work either. In the dashboard "Add functionality" and/or "Themes" nothing changes.

I'm feeling completely lost. What am I doing wrong? I've already read through most of the pages, and I still haven't found the solution.

Does it install successfully from the add functionality dialogue? If so, have you visited dashboard > themes and "activated" your new theme?

EDIT: I was a bit quick to answer your question... if you have a copy of the "package" you put together I could take a look at it in depth for you if you'd like, as I've been working successfully to modify the greek yogurt theme for myself recently... PM me for email address ;)

It doesn't seem to install at all. I've added the controller.php and so on, I found a good example somewhere on this site.

I've never seen the page Add functionality change when I tried to install the theme as a package. I'm pretty sure that my new theme was never installed.

Put your new theme in www/themes directory in a new created map.
In your dashboard you go to themes and there you can activate/install your new theme.
Do you have add an description.txt file in your thememap?
First line you add your themename and the second line you add an description. This will recognise your theme in your dashboard.

Make sure your directory is correct.. see attached. Also, if you uploaded the theme via ftp as a zip or rar file, then make sure to extract it into the root/themes/yourthemefolder so your folder/file structure looks like the attached.

Like I already said before, I followed all those steps. In the attachment you see the theme I want to install. I've uploaded in the folder themes, and it's called holiday_yogurt.

planist1, I've done just like you said, and it's still not showing up in the dashboard.

You have put your theme in the root/concrete/themes folder,
It should go in the root/themes folder..

Yeah, I don't see your root/concrete folder in that screen shot which means that folder directory you are showing is in the concrete folder.

I figured it out. My client gave me a custom ftp login, and it actually only opens in the concrete folder. I asked him to give me root access so that I can finally upload the new theme.

I'm sorry for being such a newbie to C5. Thank you all for your helping me out!
