5.4.1 - Google Map error

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I update c5 to 5.4.1 and I have problem with Google Map.
When I add a new block or edit existing map, I can write API Key, marker localization, etc. The block was added and I see "Content is disabled in edit mode".
The problem is that I see this grey frame with text instead of map even when I exit edit mode.
Map doesn't display.
When I logout from the admin panel I see only text without frame.

Any idea?

Did you find a fix because I just noticed this too. Previous maps on the site show fine that were added before 5.4.1 but and new ones I add it wont display

currently the googlemap block is broken as it uses old API, basically, someone has to re-write it for it to work,

Just clear your cache after updating a page that contains a google map block. Sometimes it even takes clearing it a couple of times to get the map to show back up when you have cache enabled.

If you update a page that has a google map on it often, I would consider disabling cache for that page. This should eliminate the issue.

If caching is important to you, then just try to get use to deleting the cache every time you update a page that has a google map.

Dashboard/Sitewide Settings/Clear Cache

Hope this helps.

Is it possible to define marker on the map via latitude/longitude instead of address?

I know that Google API supports it as well as some GM modules for other CMS-es, but I'm not aware how to do it here?

That helped me, 1webco. I was stumped with this, and found that cache setting and that resolved the issue right away.

I'm rather new to all this, and I hope I won't annoy anyone by this elementary question. I'm trying to add a Google map block to the Contact page of my Creme Shoppe eCommerce theme, but all I get is a "google not defined" error message. What gives?
