Bold and italic styling doesn't show up

I'm adding some bold and italic areas in my text which appear as they should while being edited. Once the page is saved and viewed on either Firefox or Safari (Mac), they go back to plain text.

Does anyone know why this occurs and what I can do to have what I see in the editor be what I get when viewing with the browser?

Thanks.

If you have firefox you should downloadhttp://getfirebug.com/ -> This tool will help you debug your problem. It will show you what style sheet you are using in your CSS. Then you should be able to fix this problem if you know very simplistic CSS. This is a styling issue.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Part of the issue here is that I am learning CSS and I can't figure this out. I'm using the KeepItSimple template which already had everything written for it.

I agree it has to be a styling issue because I can see bold/italics on other pages.

Issue solved:

I went to Chris over at c5mix who created the KeepItSimple template. The answer was removing the reference to the reset.css in the screen.css.

I've no idea what either of those .css files do but it did the trick.
