C5 Version 5.6.3.4 - Editing site gives error messages

Just upgraded to # concrete5 Version 5.6.3.4
Now I have problem editing the site. Get error messages that won't allow me to save edits. See attached screen shots of error messages.

1. I tried adding a new main content block and got ( see attached error 1)
{"alD":"277", arHandle":"Main","cID":"251", "error":false, " ( and then I can't see the rest of the error string)

2. Then I tried editing existing copy and get ( see attached error 2)
" an unexpected error occurred. Unable to get permission key for write< Back to Home

Then it won't let me close the windows until I click save or the X or the web browser window several times and struggle several times to close the window. It eventually does close and it actually makes the changes. But really very frustrating and obviously something changed with the upgrade.

Can someone help?

What version were you on before you upgraded? Did you try clearing the cache and/or turning the cache off?

Do you have any addons that need to be updated?

just one but it has needed updating for a while and it's a google analytics add on. not something that would really affect this.

Has this progressed past asking if the cache was cleared? I too am having the same issues. The odd thing is that while I can't click "Save" when adding or editing a block without getting the error messages, if I refresh the page, the block that was just added or modified is saved and on the page. I can then publish just fine.

FYI... I rolled back to 5.6.3.3 and there are NO errors now when editing or adding blocks. In my case, all addons were up to date as well, so this appears to be a 5.6.3.4 issue.

I was wondering if it was the 5.6.3.4. That is what I thought. I am still having the problem.

Can you tell me how to get back to 5.6.3.3. I don't know how to do that.

Thanks for following up on this!!!

It could still be a combination of things like addons that we both have in common etc., but for now, 5.6.3.3 fixed it. Here is what I always do and what I'd recommend:

1. Create a backup of the root/concrete directory
2. Download 5.6.3.3 from herehttp://www.concrete5.org/developers/developer-downloads/...
3. Extract the concrete directory ONLY from the zipped file
4. Zip it so it can be easily uploaded to your hosting account
5. Create a new folder/directory to upload 5.6.3.3 to so you keep it separate. Just a precautionary measure, upload the zipped 5.6.3.3 and than unzip/uncompress it inside the directory you just created.
6. This is always the scary part... you'll want to delete the current 5.6.3.4 "concrete" directory in root and then move the newly uploaded 5.6.3.3 folder directly into its place in the root directory. You will want to pick a time when there is little traffic in case something goes wrong.
6. If it fails, I always delete the new instance of "concrete" and just uncompress the backup of the original directory with 5.6.3.4 and you're back in business.

One thing I forgot to mention... I am assuming that you are not using a C5 version in the Updates folder. Due to file sizes and hosting limitations, I always extract updated core concrete files from the Updates directory and install directly in root. If you don't you'll want to do that first AND also modify config/site.php and remove the path to the Updates directory. I can walk you through it if this is confusing.
