Change URL from test site to live site

I have been experimenting witb C5 and using an old site,http://www.tonge.org . The domain is hosted by 1&1, points to a folder on my FTP site, containing my C5 implementation. I now have a new URL,http://www.locks-heath.com , which I have now set to point to the same folder. I still have work to do on the site, but I now want to make all content to appear to come from that site. When the Home Page ofhttp://www.locks-heath loads, the address bar, and all subsequent page loads, revert tohttp://www.tonge.org. I tried changing the URL in site.php, as recommended in another post, but then nothing loads up. Can anyone help please?

Your new domain, how have you set that up? Is it an alias done via DNS or is it web forwarding. Web forwarding would account for that sort of behaviour.

Hope that helps

Ollie, thank you for your reply. No, it's not. I created a folder in the root on the space I have with 1&1. The new domain name is associated with the same folder, so it is still picking up the old domain name from somewhere in the Concrete5 setup.

I've just looked at the response headers, you have a 301 redirect from locks-heath.com to tonge.org. That's much the same as web forwarding. Your domain isn't configured properly.

Hope that helps

I did try that earlier, as in my orginal post. In my previous post at the same time as yours (!), I said I thought it may be the domain configuration as it was less than 24 hours old. I just tried changing site.php again, and now it works. Thank you to both of you.

It was your domain, probably as it was new - have just looked at it again and is returning 200 OK

Glad you got it sorted.

My technical knowledge is fairly limited, but I thought the problem may have been caused by the new domain name which was only registered less than 24 hours ago. So, I set up one of my older domains to the same folder on 1&1, and had exactly the same result. I know there is not a problem with the older domain name, so fairly sure there is not a problem with the domain name. Something needs to be changed within C5, but I don't know what.
