Core form block "message to display when completed" not working.

Need help on why the core form block is not displaying the "message to display when completed" when the form is submitted. It does redirect to the correct page after the form is submitted, but has never displayed the message thanking the person completing the form.

I have included screen captures of the form, the edit form box and the page url. I have updated to 5.6.3.4. I have also done myriad cache updates in C5 and in the browser, Chrome, that I am using. It doesn't work in other browsers either.

Thanks!

Hi,

The message will only display if you are not redirecting users to another page.
If you want to direct users to another page you need to create a thank you page with your message in a content block or similar.

Cheers

Dave, thanks for the response, but that doesn't make a difference. I have had it that way in the past, and I just made that change ( see attachment ) and it still doesn't display the message.

It's possible the message is hidden somehow, but I'd need you to leave it set to show the message so I could use my browsers console to look for it

I did leave it set to show the message, I just unchecked to direct to another page. Any other access I can give I will.

Are you using a custom template? From what I remember 5.6 used tables to layout forms by default.
The message should be a div with an ID of "msg" - seems to be missing on your form.

We used Der Golem theme, but that form is not from that theme, it is the basic C5 form block.

We still have not been able to figure this out. We did see another thread where no one had an answer either except to add an Ajax form. We did, and had the exact same problem. So we have moved the page here, and just put a message in the content above the form that says you will be redirected once form is submitted. Definitely not the ideal solution. This seems to be an issue with the Concrete5 basic form. Any other help would be appreciated!

I don't know why this isn't working, the HTML is different to the 5.6 site I checked. I now mostly work in 5.7 so hard to look into it any more. If you have budget, I could code a bespoke message for you.
PM me if you are interested. :)
