Default Header Image

Where is this defined? My pages always seem to use one of the example headers based on page type. Can't find where this setting is kept. Any help?

Thanks

I use a theme and you can control where and what is in the page. My current theme has zero images in the layout, pure typography based.

I would always start with a new theme.

I too am using a custom theme, but I still wanted the theme to remain "generic" so that I can use the new Area('Header'); call to populate the header image (just like its done on the plain yogurt theme). I made my templates totally from scratch, but for some reason the default header images that come up every time I add a page are the sames ones as the plain yogurt theme has - each has a different default depending on the page type. I'm guessing somehow the page type definitions point to a default header image - but I haven't been able to find this setting anywhere. Hope this makes a little more sense now...

Go into the dashboard, logged in as the "admin" user, and go into page types. Then click on "defaults." Your page type will open up in a new window. Delete the header image that is added to the top area, and it will no longer be automatically added when you add a page of that type.

that's exactly what I was looking for! I knew it had to be in there somewhere.

The defaults seem work well if I add a new page which has defaults set. They seem to be dynamic in that when you subsequently change the defaults the changes are reflected in the pages based on those defaults.

If after the fact I want to change a page say from left nav to right nav and have the right nav defaults applied to the page, how do I do that? Or if a page of the same type was created prior to the defaults being populated, is there a way to apply the defaults without having to re-create the page?

This is something I was looking for as well. Funny thing though. When I click on the "Defaults" button, a new window opens up and prompts me to log in again. Logging in, of course just takes me back to the dashboard home. Manually pasting the URL (http://www.mysite.com/index.php?cID=2&mode=edit) into the address bar does the same thing (prompts me to log in again.)

This doesn't happen anywhere else. In fact, I'm pretty much error/hassle free except for this.

Any ideas? I'll go wading through the code and see if I can figure out where/why this is happening.

sometimes stuff in the dasboard has janky permissions.. try it using the actual admin account instead of an account with just the admin group privs.

Outstanding! Worked perfectly. Thank you.

How to apply these new modifications that I made on a page type to the old webpage ones that I have already done before?

Is there something for that?

Thanks.

I didn't see nothing that answer it. No explanations at all for the already pages that we have made before modification of the page-type.

Yeah... It speaks to manipulate the database but not HOW.

Whatever. Have a nice day.

its in Andrew's post about the 5th down. It works well. Edit the default page, then while still in the 'default' edit mode click a block, then look for the 'setup on child pages'. In the subsequent dialog you can select all pre-existing pages based on this page type.
