Download option not available for file types that aren't images?

I don't know if this is a bug or if there is something that needs to be turned on for file manager. It seems that if you right click a file that is a pdf for example the view and download options are not displayed like they would be for a jpg or png. not so concerned about the view option but rather the download option.

I found you can download using the bulk option but it requires selecting more than one pdf.

Any suggestions?

Hi willabc,

If you open the properties for the PDF file, there are two links that can be used to download it: "Tracked URL" and "URL to File".

You can open the link and download or right click and save as.

Thanks MrKDilkington,

Unfortunately those links will just open the file after which point you can download with the browser but what I'm looking for is a direct download so you don't have to open the file link first as some files may be up to 100MB in size.

If you know of a way to directly download as done for images, or customize the file manager to make this option available, please let me know.

Thank you again for your feedback.

@willabc

You can download a file directly using the "Tracked URL" and "URL to File" links.
1. right click the PDF file
2. click "Properties" in the popup menu
3. right click either of the "Tracked URL" and "URL to File" links
4. click "Save link as" from the popup menu
5. save the file

Thanks again for the response.

Not ideal but that will work for now. Quite a few steps to download a file. It is odd they didn't make the options consistent for all file types.

Again thank you for your help.
