File Manager Multiple Upload Not Working

Permalink 2 users found helpful
Far out, today there must be some gremlins around :)

Trying to upload multiple files in the file manager (just jpegs) using FireFox and Windows. Go to the folder with the images on my PC and is not showing the files to select (or any other images I have on my PC)... However, if I upload single files, they show and can be chosen... any ideas?

Hello,

Please login as administrator and go to Dashboard -> System & Settings -> Allowed File Types

There, make sure that the following extensions are added:

flv, jpg, gif, jpeg, ico, docx, xla, png, psd, swf, doc, txt, xls, xlsx, csv, pdf, tiff, rtf, m4a, mov, wmv, mpeg, mpg, wav, 3gp, avi, m4v, mp4, mp3, qt, ppt, pptx, kml, xml

Hope this helps!

Thanks pmarques... but they are all there. I painfully had to upload each file one at a time... :(

Still not sure why it would be doing that. Maybe something went funny with the install?

It looks to be a client bug unfortunately.. or at least an incompatibility issue.

Workarounds as follows :

- Use another browser. Chrome worked for me, IE also seems to work.

- Reduce the number of file types allowed. I'm not quite sure where the limit is, cutting it down to jpg, png, swf & pdf worked for me. More may be possible, experiment.

I *THINK* this is a problem that's been introduced with Firefox 15 & Concrete 5.5.2.1. it does not happen with Firefox 15 & Concrete 5.4.2.2. I'm guessing there has been some change in the way either Firefox handles the allowed file type dialog or in the way the swfupload component handles the request.

I don't really have time to dig into this further right now, perhaps someone more familiar with the innards of Concrete could provide a couple of pointers on where to look for the bug.

Me too!
Same problem with Windows 7 and Firefox 14.01 - on two completely different Windows 7 PCs.

I did find that if you type "*.jpg" in the Windows file name box, that Windoze then shows you all the files.

No such problem with Firefox 14.01 on XP - talking to the same C5.5.2.1 install.

Looks like a bug specific to Win7/Firefox 14.

It was reported as a bug a little while back - can't find it in the bug tracker now, so maybe it has been repaired for the new version?

Hello,

Same bug on a concrete5 5.5.1 on Windows.

Do you know where is the fix ?

I haven't found a fix, but if you write "*.*" on the filename box it will work.
