File Upload: GD not installed error

I am running a site in c5.7.5.9
Today all of a sudden when trying to upload, import from incoming or import from URL
I get this error: Upload Failed! Gd not installed

When I refresh the page the file is there though, so this is not really an issue right now, but it bothers me as there's obviously something wrong

what has happened here, can anyone tell?

gd is probably the php extension. Your host may have upgraded php version and not enabled gd by default. You might be able to do this yourself via CPanel.
