fixing Elemental search results

Hi,
I am using the Elemental theme for my website (www.thesleephygienist.com). The site-wide search bar works fine, in that it spits out correct information. However, it displays it in a thin column on the side, rather than filling the width of the page.
For instance, I type in "pillow" in the search bar, and all pages with that word are displayed, but way over to the side, making it inconvenient to read. Then, underneath the results, the original page is displayed.
I'm sure there is some setting I have incorrect. It seems the results are being displayed in the header (maybe). Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
Jason

Try creating a new page on which to display the results (which should include a search block for this purpose), and then edit the search block in your header and select 'Post Results to a Different Page', selecting the results page you just created.

I tried that. It didn't seem to work. When I enter in a search query it takes me to the newly created page, but does not display any search results.

Do you by any chance have caching turned on with your search results page? I'd suggest turning caching off and see if that fixes it.

A good thought. I tried it, and it didn't work. It just displayed no results.

Ok, so just to be clear.

You have a search block in your header set to post to another page, you have that page set to your Search Results page.

You have a Search Results page that does not have caching allowed and has a search block in the main area of the page with display results on this page set.

When you submit the header search it posts to the Search Results page and the URL is something like /search-results?query=searchedtext but the Search Results page search block does not populate with the "searchedtext" and does not show any results?

wow... i feel dumb. I had all of that except a search block also in the main part of the search results page. i added that, and what do you know: works like a charm. Thank you so much hutman. I appreciate it.
