I don't really understand how global areas work .... well I know how it should work but I have global areas, that are not behaving as they should, I mean, I have to change the content for each language ....everytime I change a global area it says that it was copied and editing it will create another instance of it ....so what is the trick to make a global really global ?

Hi,

A standard area is linked to a page by its name and the page id where this area is.

A global area is a sitewide area, identified by its name, so wherever you put this global area, it will have the same content.

A stack is similar to a global area with the difference that its blocks can be added in more than 1 area and so synchronized between them. Global areas have always the same blocks.

But I don't understand "...it says that it was copied and editing it will create another instance of it" ; Are you sure there are global area and not clipboard blocks ?

When i put a global area it does not show automatically in all languages, I have to change its content in each language ... when I go to stacks and global areas, I try to change the content of the gobal area it says that it will make another instance of it .... not sure it is all very clear as it is not for me either !
