How to edit images in a list block

Hi - I'm brand new to C5 and am learning using the Elements website included with the installation. Under the Portfolio page there is a list block containing 6 images. I can not fnd out how to edit, add or delete these images. It's not obvious from the C5 editor docs either.

Clicking on the list block simple edits the attributes of the block, not the images.

Thanks !!

Hi vincej1657,

The block that is displaying the images is the Page List block. This Page List block is using the "Thumbnail Grid" custom template. This custom template retrieves the thumbnail attribute from each page and uses it to display an image.

You can see how this works by clicking on one of the images. On the page that is opened, go to the toolbar and click the Page Settings cog icon, and look for the text "Thumbnail". This is the thumbnail Image/File attribute. The image selected will be displayed in the Page List block.

Excellent. Thank you.

Next question: by clicking on a Portfolio image it opens a page with an image slider. The images are moving. How do I change all the images whlst the slider is moving ? If you go to composer you will "capture" one of the images, but not all. It is like trying to move a shooting target.

Second: I want to access the images in the File Manager, however, I have no access to it from within composer. How do I get to those images ?

Many thanks !

To change the Image Slider block slide images, put the page into Edit Mode and then edit the Image Slider block.

I am afraid I don't understand your second question, can you rephrase it please.

Excellent - thank you ! I have been struggling with this.

Rephrase of my question:

I am working within the Elemental Portfolio page ( the page with the grid of 6 images).
So, within Composer I find the thumbnail where I wish to "replace" the selected image from the grid. I would like to use one of the images contained within the File Manager.

How do I gain access to the images within the file manager ?

Thanks !

To change the Thumbnail attribute image:
- choose "Clear" from the popup menu
- click "Choose New File"
- select an image from the File Manager modal window

Thanks again ! Got that. I am not automatically reaching for your help. I do check the forums and the docs. However I find that a lot of the answers on the forums releate to version 5, when I am on 8.

Next question - again relating to the Elemental template. I can't see how to apply a new entry on the nav bar to *all* pages.

Most of the advice I read relates to page types where you can stipulate the scope of your nav. But I can't find page types with nav provisions anywhere.

thanks !

I am afraid I don't understand the question.

My question relates to how to add new content to the Nav bar and to the topic list in the Elemental theme.

Since posting I have figured out how to add a link into the main nav bar. However, I can not see how to add or delete new content to the topic list.

Many thanks for all your support !
