HTML editor adding extra code

I'm editing some code blocks in the editor for concrete5 and keep getting extra code added to what i put into it. Maybe a ul or a p where i don't want it. How can i turn this off or remove it. I don't want it to correct my code. I know how i want it to behave.
If you can forego the benefits of the rich text editor, you may find the HTML block suits your needs better. In my experience, it's not added any markup.
And, we're all eager to see how the new rich text editor Redactor will perform. That will replace TinyMCE in C5.7.
