Index Search Engine completely frozen

Hey Guys,
I had Concrete5 (older version), not the latest v.5 on my local machine, then uploaded to my server and the "Index Search Engine" field just shows a progress image and i can't stop it from the admin panel to Index it again.
Is there any way of stopping the process to start it again ?. And why is this happening ?.

If you wish to run these jobs in the background, automate access to the following URL" and you got rid of it. Hope I helped :).
