Keeping the images small in a slideshow

Hi there

I recently tried to create a slide show and the images displayed are very large. Is there a way to keep these images a uniform, smaller size?

The best thing to do is resize the images to the desired size before uploading them.

But if you did want to restrict the height how could you do this? I've tried editing the slideshow block's view.php and hard coding the maxheight value (rather than letting the block find the largest image), however the large image still displays and runs over the box. I know I can crop but I'm looking for a very client friendly solution
