New admin user can't get to the dashboard
PermalinkI originally set this user up with a new group called SUPER ADMIN that has access to everything and when they log in as just that they get the admin toolbar across the top of the page without any buttons on it. Then when I add them to the ADMINISTRATIVE group the buttons show up but when you click on them it again brings you to a blank front end page that says Control Panel on it?
"Administrators" is just a default group with a lot of permissions (but not all). Any other group you make, regardless of what permissions you give them, will never be as powerful as the super user.
Unless you override some system files only the super admin will have total and unlimited power <evil laugh here>.
I don't think this fact will solve your problem, but it's a common misconception.
Have you given them view access to the Dashboard in the sitemap? Select "show system files", click "Dashboard"->"Permissions" and give them view access.
The "Access" tab in the "Sitemap" and "Sitewide Settings" left-hand sections also have options to control specific access.
In "Sitewide Settings" there is the "Other Permissions" section where you can get even more granular.
