Page Types - The Layouts are all the same - Bug or Me doing something wrong?
Version 5.3
I've created my first Page Type. I selected the one with the left side bar. It created fine. I now go into "Defaults" to customize it further, but the side bar is on the right, not the left as I've chosen. I tried this will all of them, they all create a side bar on the right?
Is this a bug or something I'm not doing right?
Thanks!

I didn't realize that. Got it working now. Thanks!
Suggestion: In a future release - Maybe a little pop-up help comment by "Handle" that explains how it relates to a template. Just a thought.
It's not an issue, but it wasn't obvious. It looked like I could simply select an icon and my page would have that initial layout.
As a developer, I realize how certain things seem second nature (or obvious) after working on a product forever, but to someone coming into this fresh (like me), this wasn't immediately obvious, however the concept (now that I know) is straight forward.
Just my two cents!
Thanks for the (consistently) fast response!

You just selected an icon, that's it..
If you have a page tpye called "big_page" you need to have a template (php file in theme) called "big_page.php", otherwise it just uses default.php
Which is what happend in your case.
This is not a bug at all, you can have several page types for one template to categorize your site. Seems to be a bit strange this "page type" - "template" relation. But it is useful once you understand how it works...
