Photos not showing

My jpgs are not showing in either the File Manager preview or on the page (broken link icon).
They are sized correctly. Specs of the jpg is attached. Is there a setting I need to change?
EDIT: just realised I added an alternate storage location that seems to have messed up the system. Removed alternate, refreshed cache but still no joy...
