Remove "Home" page in URL

This may be an easy question but I could not readily find an answer. How do I access a site's home page directory without "home" in the URL. "AlphaHD.com/home" vs. "AlphaHD.com". I notice a lot of websites do not reflect the home directory page upon loading noticed it speeds-up loading...my reason to remove it. What bugs me is I have done this in the past and apparently have forgotten how. Help would be appreciated. THX

Go to the home page settings, click on SEO and delete the url slug.
Clear the cache.

Thanks for your input. Doing your suggestion several times and clearing the cache produces a page not found and continues to insert home in the URL.

Try clearing your browser cache as well as the concrete cache
