RSS Feed is Partially Empty

Hello,

I have created an RSS feed for our Procurement team to track new Bid submissions.

The URL for the RSS feed is:http://www.unioncountync.gov/rss/bids...

The purpose of building this feed is to trigger an email from a third party system to let subscribers know that a new bid has been added or an existing bid has been updated.

However, the description field is empty in my feed. It shows:

No Content.

Bids are set up as a content type, but descriptions are added by pulling a content block into the left middle area of the page.

Screenshots of how my RSS feed is configured are attached, as well as the configuration of the RSS feed through page list+.

Can anyone help me understand why the
is empty in the RSS feed?

Many thanks for your help,
Cindy

Do the pages have page descriptions?

Are page descriptions selected in the page list block?

Hi John, thanks for the reply.

The Bid content type has a field called "Bid Description" - is that what you were asking? (Sorry, Concrete5 newbie here).

Then, when I go to edit the Page List block to add the Bid Description field to it, it won't let me do so. It keeps prompting me to edit the URL of the RSS feed, and will not let me save any changes until I do so. But, it doesn't provide a location to make changes to the RSS feed.

Screenshots of the steps I followed are attached.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Cindy

The 'description' shown by default in page list and RSS is the page description, edited from the page attributes/properties.

A-ha, gotcha. So, I need to add the description in two places - when I'm entering the bid itself, and also under Attributes > Description. Can do.

However, Concrete5 is still requiring me to enter a title for the RSS feed when I'm trying to edit Page List plus. It seems I cannot make any changes there.

So, I tried updating the RSS feed configurations. Is this pulling in the correct choice under "Get Content From"?

Hello again,

I'm still working on this project but have not gotten any farther. I took JohntheFish's suggestion to make sure to add something to the description field under Attributes, but the RSS field still isn't pulling that in.

Can anyone offer another suggestion?

Thanks!
Cindy
