just figured this out..for any one else who has a problem. The block uses simplepie with has a default cache interval of every 60 minutes. To change, open simplepie.php in concrete/libraries/3rdparty and search for: $cache_duration

Change the value there to decrease interval time. Time is in seconds.

This didn't work for me either. I changed it to 600 seconds (10 minutes) and it still hadn't updated 24 hours later.

I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to use an RSS feed from DadaMail to display a newsletter archive. The feed will update when I edit/save the block in C5, but it will not update on its own.

Any ideas?

Does it update after you manually clear the cache?

Dashboard->Sitewide Settings->Speed Settings - "Clear Cache"
gailsedotes replied on at Permalink Best Answer Reply
Dashboard->Sitewide Settings->Speed Settings-> Basic Cache
set to Disabled
clear the cache on your browser -
then it works

Thanks for the quick reply! It appears to work!!! It takes a while to update, but I believe that is a function of the $cache_duration setting in simplepie.php. (I may play around with that, tho' a 60 min cycle is okay for my needs)

Thanks for your help!

Hi,
It must be done in the site wise settings in the DASHBOARD of the site
older versions:
Dashboard->Sitewide Settings->Speed Settings-> Basic Cache
set to Disabled
clear the cache on your browser (ie,ff,chrome,opera - whatever you are using to view the site)
