Setting Tags for a Page Type

Hey, folks.
I'm developing a new page type for one of my user groups and attempting to apply specific tags to that page type (group name is MSO, and I want to have an "MSO" tag applied to every page of this type that is created).
I created an MSO page type, went to the attributes, and clicked Tags. Then I entered "MSO" as a tag that should be applied to all new pages of that type.
However, when I've tested the page type, creating a new MSO page, the page does not show any tags at all. Nothing was brought over from the default (see attached screenshots).
Am I missing something here?
