Site is logging me out

I am having some major issues on both of my concrete 5 sites... they are both on the same webhost, but different domains. As the Admin I get in the middle of editing and the site throws me a "access denied" message all of a sudden. When I make any kind of response i get sent to the default "sign in" page (which i do not use because I have my own sign in pages using RegPro). I can sign back in and get back to doing things from where i left off....except I am not able upload files. anyone have some advice I can look into?? i'm really frustrated because this is the time of year I do a lot of updates for the sites. Thanks for any help. (ps... not being sure if it is a webhost side issue, i created a word press site to play with and it seems to work fine...so i do think it is on the C5 side.)

I also spent time with my host server this evening and created an Admin Account for the tech...the tech was able to upload a file!! but then after our session, using the same log in details i had just created for the tech, i was not able to upload a file. the site kicks me off again still.

Strange isue .. hard to say what's going on from here. But I would try a fresh Concrete installation without the RegPro addon and see if you have to same problems. The addon might be causing the problem, possible just by overriding some Core features. It could be causing some problems with your session states. If you don't have a domain to test the fresh installation you could put in a subdirectory of one of your current sites. You would need a database though.

Have you tried different browsers or using a different PC/Mac to edit the site?

I logged on from my ipad last night and was able to upload a file just fine! Problem is that there are some editing things that i have some trouble with from the touch screen so i prefer the imac....perhaps the theme? (I'm using HeyDesigner). i figure then it must be something going on in my imac and/or browsers, but i've tried both firefox and safari with the same result. today i upgraded from yosemite to el capitan and i got a popup message that says "To Open CS5ServiceManager" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime." I don't really use my CS5 suite.... but could this have something to do with it? do i need java installed to Admin my C5 site? Still can not upload files...the wheel just spins and when I click to exit out of the file manager it kicks me off to the log in page. I'll try removing the RegPro next and see how it goes...i'll be back to post the result here. thanks for the attention and recommendations.

There is no issue using a Mac - I have no issues with my Macbook Pro and C5 doesn't require you to install anything extra AFAIK. I have a client using a PC who keeps getting logged out also in Chrome.
I think she ended up using Firefox which seemed ok, but very rarely an issue like this does seem to crop up.
Are your browser cookie settings all enabled?

yes, i'm using firefox normally, but also tried it on safari. i've also tried it using my ipad, but seems the theme (heydesigner) has some issues with some editing features- but i can upload photo's into the file manager from my ipad- just NOT my imac where i do most of my work from. it's been a real pain to transfer files from devices.

Java is probably used for the mass file upload function. So you will need that for multi uploads. Or you just use the file upload input.
I'm not a big fan of Apple. I would try to see of everything works on a Windows computer with a proper browser like Chrome or Firefox. It could be Apple related. If that is the case you would probably have to submit a bug in the big tracker.
