Site Title :: Home

Permalink
When I search for my site on Google, it appears as "Site Title :: Home" rather than its actual title. Where in the editing machinery do I adjust the site name so that it appears correctly in a search? Thank you.

Go to Dashboard > System & Settings > Basics. Under Basics, you will see "Site Name". You can change this here.

Another thing you can do: On the Home page under the "Edit" button, select "Properties" from the menu. For the Name, you can put in whatever you want. Also, on the Custom Attributes tab, you can add a "Meta Title" (and other meta tags), and enter custom info.

Be sure to save. To see the changes, you may need to refresh the page.

Hope this helps.

Growthcurve, I had done items 1 and 3 on your list of suggestions before. Just now did item 2 (Edit>Properties) on your list of suggestions. I saved and refreshed page and still... no improvemnt... To clarify how the search result lists my site: the name "Site Title :: Home" comes up in big bold letters with the URL below. Any other ideas?

It may take some time for search engines to begin indexing the changes. You could try submitting your site directly to search engines.

Also,
Be sure to use your Bulk SEO updater in the Systems and Settings page of your dashboard. Its the easiest place I've found to update your page names.
I have a blog article you may find helpful on this topic at http://blog.arvixe.com/the-concrete5-bulk-seo-tool/...

Hope this helps :)
