Suggestions for making a block with a list of links

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I created a Content with a list of links that I will update from time to time. However, this Content will be used on multiple page types- left sidebar, right sidebar, etc. How can I create one single object that I can embed on the page type defaults, and I can update it from one singular source instead of going into each type and manually editing each of them every time?

Well,
You can build that list with the content or html block. Go to Dashboard> Scrapbook> then choose to add a block to your scrapbook. Make your block and save it. Now you can place that exact block anywhere, on any page, by choosing to "add block from scrapbook". When you want to update it - update it via the scrapbook and your update will appear everywhere you place that block.

Wait, so the places where I paste the Scrapbook block continue to correspond to it after it's pasted? Nice.

Wait, this isn't helpful for me. The update only would apply if I created a new version of the block with Scrapbook, but it wouldn't go back and update the old version of the block.

Editing the Scrapbook block will update the block everywhere. I think as you originally thought.

To change your list of links (your content), do not create a new version. Edit the block you already created.

I have Version: 5.4.0.5. There's no Edit option in the Scrapbook.

Edit: Wait, I've found the solution-http://www.concrete5.org/private/features/edit-scrapbook-items/...

Apparently the default Scrapbooks (the global one and the admin one) don't permit editing scraps, for whatever reason.
