This user is inactive

When I tried to work on developing my local site today as admin, I was able to login successfully, but very quickly I got a message in the Dashboard area saying "This user is inactive. Please contact us regarding this account." It happens over and over.

This topic has been addressed on the forum in years gone by, but the solutions provided all seem to be no longer valid — so much has changed in the interim. Can someone please provide me with the current solution to this problem?

Hi,
I'm afraid I don't know what has caused the issue but if you are able to look in your database at the Users table you should see the record for the admin user.

In this row there will be a field ulsActive -if this is 0 set it back to 1 and that should reactivate the user.

If you do this and the problem is resolved, does it recur again?

This is embarrassing. I finally decided to do what I should have done to begin with — reboot my PC. So far so good, but I'll be back here if I need to. Thanks AndyJ for taking the time to comment.

The same thing happens when your using chromes new developer tools and you switch to device view then navigate to another page. You get booted out and it says "This user is inactive"
