Tips I've found for the Slideshow block and posting images.

While working on my site today I made a slideshow of 3 pictures but 2 of the pictures went outside the block I was working in. A little experimentation led me to the fact that the block will always size itself to the smallest height pic in the slideshow. If you have 3 pics with heights of 100px, 200px, and 300px it'll set the block to 100px. The solution is to either:
1) Resize all pics to the same height.
2) add a transparent or color-matched background to the smaller pics to bring them to the same height as the largest pic.
3) host your pics elsewhere. I did this for one page with my Picasa acount. It allows you to create slideshows to embed in the HTML portion of the Content block. You can choose the thumbnail size, too.
4) Just use the Content block and display all images at once.
5) Use a separate Image block for each pic.

Unfortunately, the Image block doesn't give you much formatting options. I've found that adding the image to the Content block gives me more freedom on where in the block the pic will sit. The Image block defaults to left justification but the Content block allows me to center the pic.

Just things I've found that may help others out.

very interesting. I know some other folk are talking about a image gallery block in the block requests forum, maybe there's some details you would like to throw in there around what it should do.
