Trash folder missing

Permalink 2 users found helpful
For some reason or another I have no recycle bin/trash folder in my 5.6.0.2 installation. I went to the site map and hit 'show system pages' and there's nothing matching either of those. At some point I was using the discussion forum and had deleted a test topic with some posts. It appears the pages for those posts still exist but I have no real way to get to them. Is there some way to bring them back or delete them completely?

No nibbles on this... Is this one for the bug tracker? I don't want to submit a bug if it's something I somehow screwed up (though I can't imagine how) or I can't figure out how to reproduce it.

Did you get to the bottom of this RoyS? We just update to 5.6.0.2 today and have no trash in the system pages either.

I did... And it took a lot of research to figure it out (and I hope I'm remembering correctly). The issue was that I was using my account (which was an administrator) and not the actual site administrator account. For reasons little-well known, the trash page is hidden by default from anyone but the site admin. I can't remember the post that gave me the pointer but you have to go into the permissions and add Administrators to the access list for the trash. If I can find the link, I'll give it. I hope that's enough to get you started down the right path.
