unable to upload files- need help quick!

Not sure what i did wrong, but every time I upload a file (jpg, mov, txt- does not matter) it gives me a generic looking icon and does not actually show up. It was adding files at one point, but ten it stopped one day.

Any suggestions folks?

BTW, thinking about upgrading to 5.2 since our site is not LIVE yet. Any suggestions regarding that?

weird. well you always gotta wonder what's changed. did the server change at all? could the permissions on the file directory be different? did the admins update software like php or apache?

It also says under properties that the file size is 0kb. What's up with that?

I can check the file permissions when I go into work tomorrow.

I am actually the admin. I don't remember changing permissions or upgrading php or apache. Just upgraded to C5 5.2 tonight- no difference with file uploads- same problem

I am a bit new to this, so is there a place I can check to make sure all is well with file permissions. I am using an Xserve.
