Upgraded to 8.5.4 and now the Design - Theme - Customize does not work anymore

I recently upgrade to 8.5.4 and now when I want to change some color or fonts or size etc., the customize part of the theme does not work anymore. It just does not load.
What can I do to solve this issue?

there's a lengthy discussion about this on Github and it seems there's a solution that you can find here:https://github.com/concrete5/concrete5/issues/8787#issuecomment-7234...
Although your problem seems to be different so not sure it's going to work for you.
