Where are Backups Stored?

Permalink 3 users found helpful
Hi all,

I recently made a "backup" by going into "System Maintenance" and then "Backup & Restore." I then clicked "run backup."

A .sql file was then supposedly created as listed on a table. I am wondering where physically this file is stored in my concrete5 directory system on my server.

Also, can one transfer this backup file to other c5 installations?

Thank you so much,

Chi

I updated my client's 5.4.1.1 to 5.4.2.1, and then updated to 5.5.1. I used the backup option in Dashboard > System Maintenance before initiating the updates. However, I was not able to login after the upgrades. I entered the usual username/password correctly in the login window, but it does not bring up the edit mode after that.

My first preference would be to get the current version functioning and allowing me to edit and get dashboard access. Second preference would be to uninstall whichever version is causing the issues or reinstate the database file (sql) that was created and stored. I can locate the sql database in the 'file' directory, but am not sure what to do with it to return the site to its former status.

Any help is appreciated!

You can also download the SQL file from the backup page. You should be able to apply this to a new site, although you may want to make sure configuration matches and there aren't any conflicts, etc...

You would "import" the database backup by using some sort of MySQL management tool such as phpMyAdmin that is commonly found in your hosting dashboard.
