Data Sharing from within the CMS

Concrete CMS is free and open source and can be run on just about any server you'd like. Unless you change its source code (which you're welcome to do) your copy of Concrete will periodically contact our servers to see if there's a new version available and get some news from the community. When that call back happens, we do track the following information:

  • Your server's IP address.
  • What URL your server thinks it's serving the site at.
  • What primary language is your site is running (eg: English, Japanese, French.)
  • What version of Cocnrete your site is running.

We like having this info because quite frankly you're using an awful lot of code we wrote for free. At the very least it'd be helpful if we could tell people how many sites are out there using it. We don't sell this information or use it for anything beyond our own market analysis.

We never send any information about the people visiting your site up to our servers.

Logo Usage

If we detect you are using Concrete from looking at the CCM tags in the public source of your HTML, we might use your logo on our marketing site. If you notice this and don't want us to, just ask.
