Hi there,

Same question from me. I have a 5.6 site that I need to upgrade with about 500 user accounts. Will your add on import from 5.6?

Thanks,

Duncan

Hi!

I am almost positive that you can. HOWEVER, I don't want to say that and have you run into problems.

I'm going to install those specific versions for testing. I'll update you soon on what I find out.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I just posted in the forum too, it might help:https://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/chat/importing-users-from...

Hi again,

I managed to do this myself in the end as I needed to get the site ready today.

Thanks for your help but in the end I had to manually alter the database constraints after copying the data to the Users table. I'll update my post in the forum.

Cheers,

Duncan

Hi,

I've just realised that my attempts to import users was not entirely successful and seems to have caused more issues than anything else :(

Did you get around to setting up an earlier version to test the migration? The site I'm working on is very close to completion but I need to get the users into the system before it can be signed off. If you can tell me that the import works for the import of users from old to new, particularly from v5.6.3.3 to v8.5.2, I will purchase immediately!

Many thanks

Hi there,

Just to be clear, are you trying to upgrade a site from C5 5.6.3.3 to 8.5.2? One install being upgraded?

Or do you have a new site that is on 8.5.2 that you want to import the users from another site (on 5.6)? Two installs?

Please let me know, and I can confirm a solution.

Hi,

I have a current site in 5.6.3.3 with a user list of about 500. We have rebuilt the site in 8.5.2 and need to import the 500 users from old to new. Hope that makes sense.

Cheers,

Duncan

Hiya,

Any thoughts on the above?

BTW, the new site will be under the same URL as the old, in case that makes a difference!

Cheers,

Duncan

Just wanted to update that I'm replicating the older environment to test this out... look for a confirmation sometime in the next 24 hours.

Hi,

Any news at all?

Just thinking that if you wanted to try this in a 'live' environment to save you from having to try and recreate one, I could give you access to both the current site and the new site. If that would save you some time, let me know and I can IM you the details. I would, of course, backup both databases first, just in case!

Thanks,

Duncan

Hi, I have one last little thing to test tonight. I'll get you some concrete (pun intended) info later tonight 6/2/20.

I can confirm this works with our All Out add-on from Concrete5.7 then into 8.5. I can't install 5.6 because it's not supported.

So, purchase All Out, export the users, then import with the All In add-on.

If you can't export properly from 5.6, please contact me and I'd be happy to build a custom export directly from the database. But, you really should have no problems.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have bought, downloaded and installed both add ons. For some reason though, I cannot see them on the dashboard! I've attached a couple of screenshots to prove that I'm not mad! :)

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Duncan

Seems to be another reason why 5.6 is not supported.

Can you see if there are any single pages that exist that haven't been added?

As far as I can see, there are no missing single pages.

Just to clarify, I have installed both add ons in the 5.8 version of the site. Is this correct?

Under 'Extend Concrete5' on the dashboard, I can see both add ons as installed, they are simply not showing up on the dashboard functionality.

Can I PM you access details? This last task is holding up the launch of the new version of the site.

Cheers,

Duncan

Hi,

Is there any news on this? The new site is ready to go and this is the only thing holding it up.

If it is not going to work, and if you can't help, can you let me know? I will have to request a refund and then add the users manually (one by one).

I realise that these are difficult times and that it's not easy to juggle priorities but please just let me know one way or the other? My priority is to my client and I can't keep waiting a week in between replies.

Thanks,

Duncan

Please PM me access info to the old install, the new install, and if possible the database.

I may have to build something custom since this is previous to 5.7. I'll let you know what's involved in that once I take a look at the install(s).

Thanks!
