Automatic Email Obfuscator works for concrete 5 Version 8.3.2?
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi there
Is the Automatic Email Obfuscator plug-in working for concrete 5 Version 8.3.2?
I was able to install the plugin, read the documentation. In my opinion basic obfuscation method should work automatically. But it doesn't. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for your reply!
Cheers, Roberto

Hi
Thanks for your reply - and sorry very much I come back to you with such a delay.
I actually tested the addon with a plain concrete5 8.4.0 installation as downloaded. It seems it doesn't work with a standard concrete5 8.x version.
Here's the page of the test installation on which I published an e-mail address after installing the automatic e-Mail obfuscator addon:http://www.rivettiworks.net/project/c5840test/index.php/contact...
Any clue what goes wrong? Are you able to fix it?
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Roberto

Hi,
I noticed this is still hanging here.
I checked your sample installation with the provided link and the add-on seems to work correctly there.
Looking at the source code it has:
I changed the obfuscated email in the code sample for your protection.
On the page as a user you are not supposed to see any difference to having not having this add-on installed. This is only to be used to fool some of the bots, not to make life harder for website users.

Yes, you are correct it should work automatically after installed.
We haven't particularly tested with 8.3+ but it seems this event should still be working as the event it attaches to seems to remain unchanged.
Can you also test this with a plain concrete5 installation, only with the core installed? In case it's not working there either, then it must be a problem with the add-on but otherwise it may be something we can narrow down on your particular site.
It may also relate to the email format that you have on your site, so it would help to see an example page as well.
