add js library
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi.. I'm a little newby and need some help
1- Is there a place where I can load a js library used in screen "assets" by "view Javascrip" ?
2- is it possibile to modify a block created, without first to disinstall it and having updates directly applied ? (for example... only to correct css or things like this ?)
Thank you so much in advance
Michele

Hi there,
If you want to use "jQuery.scrollText.js", you'd be best off implementing that in your theme. This way, you don't need all checks and have this in a block. I mostly combine all JS into one file too, which saves requests to your server.
So let's say you use jQuery.scrollText.js, jQuery.backstretch.min.js, jQuery.min.js etc. etc., combine them all in 1 (one) single file to make it as small as possible and reduce load for your server AND improve loading speed for your users.
There is currently no providing of assets possible within Block Designer. And that is mostly due to the reasons explained above. It is best to keep your site as fast as possible. Furthermore, it will improve your Google PageSpeed Insights score.

Not sure what you mean with this?:

Can you explain that a little more? Code examples are fine too if you have them.
As for modifying without deinstalling/uninstalling; no, you need to uninstall first. This due to files that have to be deleted first and regenerated and fields that may be required but not filled in because of adding a new field and stuff like that. This is a precaution, so everything goes right in all scenarios. This is more of a failsafe. In case you DO want to make edits, you can do them manually (just not using Block Designer).
Kind regards,
Ramon
